These birds will generally lay average 300 eggs a year when fed a layers pellet with 17% protein, mixed poultry grit,
and water. The water can make a big difference to the amount of eggs laid.
A hen that goes without water for 24 hours gets stressed and can take 3 weeks to get over it and back to full health.
These birds are lightweight and eat less feed than the average hen. They have a tendency to be a bit flighty if stressed.
